Shougang Shares partners with Zhongshan Qinglian to launch a new generation of low-carbon pickling products.

In 2025, Shougang Shares and Zhongshan Qinglian Metal Products Co., Ltd. held the product launch event for their 40% traceable, circular-materials-based low-carbon demonstration project—titled "Carrying 'Shou' Across Mountains and Seas, Building a Low-Carbon 'Lian' Future"—at the Carbon Neutrality Theme Park in Yuexiu Park, Guangzhou, Guangdong Province.
The next-generation acid-washed, low-carbon product jointly developed by both parties—steel S75YYJ for garden tools—has been officially launched. During the product development process, Shougang Shares and Zhongshan Qinglian successfully implemented a closed-loop circular system encompassing "production-consumption-regeneration," achieving 100% recycling of scrap steel resources. As a result, the proportion of scrap steel used in the smelting process was increased to 40%, leading to an overall carbon reduction of more than 30%.
Sun Maolin, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and General Manager of Shougang Shares, stated that the launch of these acid-washed low-carbon products marks a significant achievement for Shougang in technological innovation and product upgrading, as well as another important milestone in the company’s journey toward green development. Xu Jiachang, General Manager of Zhongshan Qinglian, highlighted that the next-generation acid-washed low-carbon products’ exceptional performance combined with their low-carbon attributes will help Zhongshan Qinglian accelerate its entry into the green growth arena. During the event, representatives from DNV (Norwegian Classification Society) presented the carbon footprint certificate to the new generation of acid-washed low-carbon products, while officials from the Quality Certification Center awarded a carbon neutrality certificate to commemorate the occasion.
