Recently, Beigang New Materials achieved a milestone breakthrough in the field of marine steel products. The first batch of 57 tons of S30408 marine-grade stainless steel plates has been officially delivered and will be used in the manufacturing of critical components for the Pinglu Canal demonstration vessel. This accomplishment marks a pivotal leap for Beigang New Materials, transitioning its marine-grade stainless steel plates from research and development to full-scale production. As a key foundational material in shipbuilding, the S30408 marine-grade stainless steel boasts exceptional adaptability to extreme environments, thanks to its precise carbon-nitrogen element control technology combined with a dual-refining process system. It maintains stable mechanical properties even under ultra-low-temperature conditions, while also ensuring consistent resistance to seawater corrosion. To ensure that the material perfectly aligns with the core design principles of the Pinglu Canal demonstration vessel, Beigang New Materials collaborated closely with NanHua Group and Beigang Jingxing, establishing a service model centered around "demand-driven customization, end-to-end collaboration, and precision delivery." This successful mass production not only validates Beigang New Materials' comprehensive technological capabilities across the entire R&D and manufacturing process of specialty stainless steels but also injects "Beigang Power" into China's shipbuilding industry chain.

Shougang Shares partners with Zhongshan Qinglian to launch a new generation of low-carbon pickling products.

In 2025, Shougang Shares and Zhongshan Qinglian Metal Products Co., Ltd. held the product launch event for their 40% traceable, circular-material-based low-carbon demonstration project—titled "Carrying 'Shou' Across Mountains and Seas, Building a Low-Carbon 'Qinglian' Future"—at the Carbon Neutrality Theme Park in Yuexiu Park, Guangzhou, Guangdong Province. The two companies jointly unveiled their next-generation acid-washed, low-carbon product—steel S75YYJ, designed specifically for gardening tools. During the development of this innovative product, Shougang Shares and Zhongshan Qinglian successfully established a closed-loop circular system encompassing "production-consumption-regeneration," enabling 100% recycling of scrap steel resources. As a result, the proportion of scrap steel used in the smelting process was increased to 40%, leading to an overall carbon reduction of more than 30%. Sun Maolin, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and General Manager of Shougang Shares, emphasized that the launch of this acid-washed, low-carbon product marks a significant achievement in Shougang's ongoing efforts toward technological innovation and product upgrades—and represents another key milestone in the company's commitment to sustainable, green development. Meanwhile, Xu Jiachang, General Manager of Zhongshan Qinglian, highlighted how the exceptional performance and low-carbon attributes of the new product will help accelerate the company's entry into the green market. At the event, representatives from DNV (Norway Classification Society) presented the carbon footprint certificate for the next-generation acid-washed, low-carbon product, while officials from the Quality Certification Center awarded a carbon neutrality certificate to commemorate the occasion.

Steel plans to invest 512 million yuan in a new large-square billet continuous casting project.

On the evening of October 27, 2025, Steel (000932) announced that, in order to further advance the company’s strategy of upgrading its product portfolio and better meet market and customer demands, as well as enhance the quality of its bar products and expand their specifications, the steelmaking plant of the company’s subsidiary, Hunan Steel Co., Ltd., plans to build a new large-square billet continuous casting machine project. The project will require an investment of 512 million yuan, with a construction period of 15 months, funded entirely by the company’s own capital. In its announcement, Steel noted that the current market for ordinary steel products remains characterized by an imbalance between supply and demand, while there is strong global demand for specialized steels used in major engineering projects and industrial enterprises—steels that not only meet high-quality standards but also offer significant added value. Currently, the billets supplied by Xianggang’s existing continuous casting machines can no longer fully satisfy the needs of its bar production, and the quality of these billets also limits the company’s ability to further improve the variety and specifications of its bar products. Additionally, the existing continuous casting machine is located at a considerable distance from the bar rolling line, leading to long billet transportation routes and higher energy consumption. Once this project comes into operation, it will help Xianggang elevate the quality of its bar products, optimize the structure of its wire and bar product range, and strengthen the company’s overall competitiveness. Meanwhile, the company’s Q3 report released on the same day revealed that, during the first three quarters of the year, Steel achieved operating revenue of 94.598 billion yuan, total profits of 4.229 billion yuan, and net profit attributable to shareholders of the listed company amounting to 2.510 billion yuan—a year-on-year increase of 41.72%.
